Skilled Surgical Care for a Healthier, Happier Pet

At our veterinary hospital, we understand that the thought of your pet undergoing surgery can be stressful. Whether your pet needs a routine procedure or surgery to address an injury or medical condition, our team is committed to providing compassionate care, careful monitoring, and personalized attention throughout the surgical process.

We take the time to explain recommended procedures, discuss your pet’s individual needs, and answer your questions so you can feel informed and confident about their care. Your pet’s safety, comfort, and well-being are our priorities from the initial consultation through recovery.

Our Surgical Services

Routine and Preventative Surgery

We provide common surgical procedures that support your pet’s long-term health and well-being. These may include spay and neuter procedures and other recommended surgeries based on your pet’s age, health, and individual circumstances.

Soft Tissue Surgery

Soft tissue surgery may be recommended to treat a variety of medical conditions affecting the skin, abdominal organs, and other soft tissues. Depending on your pet’s needs, procedures may include mass or lump removals, wound repair, removal of certain foreign objects, and other medically indicated surgeries.

Surgical Treatment for Injuries and Medical Conditions

When illness or injury requires surgical intervention, our veterinary team evaluates your pet’s condition and determines the most appropriate treatment plan. Diagnostic testing, including bloodwork and imaging, may be recommended before surgery to help assess your pet’s health and guide treatment decisions.

Pre-Surgical Evaluation and Preparation

Before surgery, we review your pet’s medical history and perform an examination to assess their overall health. Pre-anesthetic bloodwork and additional diagnostic testing may be recommended depending on your pet’s age, medical history, and the procedure being performed. We also provide instructions to help you prepare your pet for surgery at home.

Anesthesia and Patient Monitoring

Your pet’s safety is a priority throughout the surgical process. Anesthesia is tailored to your pet’s individual needs, and appropriate monitoring is performed during the procedure. Our team works to maintain your pet’s comfort and stability throughout anesthesia and recovery.

Pain Management and Recovery Care

Pain management is an important part of every surgical plan. We use appropriate pain-control strategies based on the procedure and your pet’s individual needs. After surgery, we provide recovery instructions, medication guidance, activity restrictions when needed, and recommendations for follow-up visits to support healing.

What to Expect When Your Pet Needs Surgery

We believe informed pet owners are essential partners in their pet’s care. Our team will discuss the recommended procedure, explain potential risks and benefits, review estimated costs, and answer your questions before proceeding.

We ask that most patients be fasted after 8 pm the night before surgery (water overnight is okay), and in most cases they are dropped off with us between 8 and 8:30 am the day of surgery. Most of our day procedures go home by 4 pm the same day.

Following surgery, you’ll receive instructions on caring for your pet at home, including incision monitoring, medication administration, feeding, activity limitations, and signs that may require veterinary attention. We encourage you to contact us if you have concerns during your pet’s recovery.

Compassionate Care Every Step of the Way

Every pet is unique, and surgical recommendations are based on their health, diagnosis, and individual circumstances. If a procedure requires specialized equipment or expertise beyond our hospital’s capabilities, we can discuss referral options when appropriate.

When your pet needs surgery, you can count on our team for thoughtful guidance, attentive care, and support throughout the process. Contact our veterinary hospital to schedule a consultation or learn more about our surgical services.
